Ntabamhlophe stock sale is a boost for farmers

Tau Senye, Ramarumo Senokwane, Dirang Ntshabele, Zenzele Bhengu and Sthembiso Shabangu assisted in organising the stock sale.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (Veterinary Services) together with Vleissentraal held a stock sale last Thursday.

The sale was held at Ezinyosini in Ntabamhlophe, and acted as a method for local farmers and cattle owners to profit from their livestock.

Area Animal Health Technician, Tau Senye would like to encourage local farmers to attend the stock sales and bring along cattle to sell. He added that the farmers must make good use of the facilities available and continue to take good care of the stock sale yard.

The highest bid for a bull during the auction was R13 800 and the lowest for a cow was R4 200. The total amount of cattle at the stock sale was 55 and of those, 52 were sold.

These are some of the cattle that were on sale at the auction last week.

A profit of R416 100 was made in sales and 14 temporary jobs were created.

The organisers would like to thank the local municipality, the Ezinyosini councillor, local farmers and Vleissentraal. The next stock sale will be held in November and the date will be released closer to the time. For more information contact Mr Senye on 076 967 8454 or 036 352 3119.
