Hilldene Pool opened, Forderville remains closed

Hilldene Swimming Pool.

The good news is that Hilldene Swimming Pool is open. After a staggered opening, the pool is now officially ready for locals to dive in.

According to Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality’s Communications Manager Sphelele Zikalala, the delay in opening the pool was due to chemicals not being received from the supplier.

“The chemicals used to purify water were delayed from the supplier and when delivered, only half the consignment was received,” she explained.

The municipality also used the time delay to repair the boundary fence, which was damaged by a storm in September.

The Forderville Pool remains closed due to staffing.

“The pool will be opened as soon as the lifeguard is appointed as the recruitment process commenced two months ago and is at its final stage,” said Ms Zikalala.

The municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.
