Three men aged between 30 and 66 made an appearance in the Estcourt Magistrates Court on Monday. They were arrested early on Saturday morning in the Mahlutshini area of Ntabamhlophe.
The men were in the process of loading stock when officers from the Ntabamhlophe SAPS Visible Policing Unit pounced on them.
They tried to elude officers but when cornered they had no option but to stop. Officers found them in possession of sheep, a calf and goats.
They failed to prove ownership of the stock. A unlicensed pistol which was loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition was also found.
