WATCH: Municipal clean-up at residence illegally operating a recycling business from Brewitt Road

Municipal officials conducted a clean-up at this premises in Brewitt Road this morning.

Tensions ran high this morning when officials from the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality descended on a family home Brewitt Park.

The family has been accused of illegally operating a recycling business from their residential premises.
This is evident by the dozens of bags containing bottles and cardboard that is piled on the road side and inside the yard.

The family members were extremely angry, with some shouting expletives at municipal officials and also very emotional saying the business was their ‘bread and butter’.

Municipal officials were steadfast in their resolve and even had to pepper spray a member of the family who came charging out of the yard.

Municipal officials were given instructions to clear outside the premises as well as inside the yard.
