With crime on the increase here in South Africa; Estcourt has not been secluded from the intensity and brutality of this terrible era of wrong doings.

From burglaries to harassment, we’ve seen it hit our small community countless of times, however the most recent crime has left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth and a sense of increasing worry in everyone’s mind.

Fence and a gate have been stolen from St Matthew’s Anglican Church.

The St Matthew’s Anglican Church has become a popular target for vandals.

From the theft of their graveyard fences, to the broken concrete statues and benches, it is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to continue repairing and replacing something that would only be damaged and stolen again.

A church should be a safe place where people come to worship, but how can you whole-heartedly pray when you are constantly worried about being robbed in an area you should feel safest.
