St Gregory Primary School hosted their annual Colour Fun Run on a glorious Saturday morning, September 1, spring day.
The runners, big and small started to register for the 1km, 5km and the 10km trail. The runners set off with great excitement and were doused with coloured paint, some more than once.
These now colourful runners added a splash of colour to the very brown landscape. The day was enjoyed by 217 participants and was a very eventful day, with lovely stalls, games for the children and some very creative face painting. Many children enjoyed a plunge in the very cold pool afterwards for a refreshing swim.
The 10km race was won by Emmanuel Buthelezi, in second place was Brian Buthelezi and in third place was Bonginkosi Makhhathini.
The 5km race was won by Syethanda Khumalo, in second place was Siyamthanda Majola and in third place was Ayanda Mbongwa. The 1km race was won by Thabiso Strydom. Second was Sandile Hadebe and in third Sanele Strydom.
Well done to the participants, even if you did not get a place, it was evident that you all had fun.
St Gregory Primary School would like to thank all the runners and everyone who attended this special event. Thank you to all the sponsors, without whom the school could not have hosted such an amazing day. After loads of fun, the participants slowly made their way home a little weary, a little bit dusty and a mixture of colours. The school looks forward to next year’s fun event, see you all there.
