The learners of St Gregory Primary School took part in the annual Speech and Drama Festival of South Africa; this event took place on September 19 and 20. Mr Pieter Brits was the official adjudicator, appointed by the association.
The learners entered many categories such as individual poem, show and tell, monologue, advertisement, prepared public speech, mime, dramatic movement, choral verse and many more.
The talent at the school was unbelievable, and some children entered more than ten items, which they performed with incredible skill. For show and tell the adjudicator was treated with the art of making a lovely trifle and even sampled this lovely dessert. “Bon Appetite!”

The learners were awarded with many A’s and A+s. St Gregory would like to thank each and every learner that took part and Mr Brits who was such a kind and gracious adjudicator.
Many times he had to settle frayed nerves, which he did very graciously. Thank you Mr Brits. What a wonderful opportunity for all these little “budding stars” to showcase their talent.
Possibly we might even find a future Hollywood star!
The school looks forward to hosting this event again next year.
