On September 25, the grade two learners from St Gregory Primary School embarked on an excursion to Wessa Umgeni River Valley in Howick.
On arrival, the friendly and informative guides, James and Yethu, had the learners actively involved in learning about the environment.
Learners were taken on a scenic hike and rested near a waterfall to have their snacks. The children truly needed their energy for what was to follow: races with teams blindfolded and led through a maze by leaders, as well as trying to balance across a bouncy tree log about a metre off the ground!
It was amazing and enjoyable, for both the learners and the educators. The guides concluded the tour with a guessing game using different animal skulls!
St Gregory Primary would like to thank the staff of Umgeni River Valley for hosting the grade twos and for making the trip so memorable and fun.
