About Estcourt News

The Estcourt and Midlands News lives by its motto to be the "Voice of our Community" and highlights the experiences that touch the lives of our community members everyday. Our newspaper features a variety of community, social, school and sport news that reflects the diversity of the areas we serve. The newspaper was previously known as the Howick and District News, Estcourt News and the Mooi River Mail and Midlands Observer. We are situated at 99 Connor Street in Estcourt, KwaZulu-Natal and our design, classifieds, advertising and editorial departments are all in-house. About 3 500 copies of the newspaper are distributed every Wednesday to readers from the ‘Berg to Mooi River. Estcourt and its surrounding areas are steeped in rich Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer history with the Battle of Willowgrange site attracting a fair amount of visitors for its anniversary service each year. Some say that Estcourt is one of the oldest towns and started as a Voortrekker settlement 1838. With Estcourt’s rich history and rapidly changing present, our newspaper aims to bring the best of both to our readers.
